Welcome to Evakona Education
Evakona Education was founded by Eriko Mclean in 2001. Evakona is an English language school situated in the scenic paradise of the Coromandel Peninsula, New Zealand. Evakona has two campuses. Whitianga and Thames. We provide a variety of English courses to meet the needs of our students.

Founder’s Message
EVAKONA is an amalgamation of two words: “EVA” stands for “English Voyage Academy” which was our original name, and “AKONA” which means ‘learn’ or ‘educate’ in TE REO (Māori Language). So start your English voyage by reading the story of how our school began and about the inspiring woman who made it all happen.
