High School Preparation Course

About

Even if you’re not confident in your English,
you can start with ease and earn high school credits
as you improve your language skills.

This high school study-abroad course is uniquely designed to help students build a strong foundation in English during their first year at Evakona, while simultaneously earning nationally recognized high school credits (Year 11/NCEA level 1) accredited by the New Zealand Qualification Authority (NZQA).
The program begins at the end of March, in line with the Japanese academic calendar, and concludes in January to match the start of the New Zealand school year. This allows students to transition smoothly into a local high school in February.
In the second and third years, students progress to a New Zealand high school to continue their studies. With a well-structured and manageable pathway, students can complete their New Zealand high school qualification in as little as three years*, without unnecessary delays or pressure. *The duration required to complete the local high school program may vary depending on the student’s academic ability, English proficiency, age, and progress during their studies.

  • Feature01

Achieve your high school qualification in 2 years and 9 months*

At Evakona, students study high school subjects while improving their English, earning Year 11 credits at the same time. This means there’s no need to spend six months to a year on separate English training before entering a New Zealand high school. With Evakona’s program, students can efficiently earn their high school qualification in just 2 years and 9 months.*
*The time required to complete high school may vary depending on the student’s age at the start of the program and individual learning ability.

  • Feature02

    Learn in Classes Tailored
    to Your Level

At Evakona, students take English classes tailored to their individual level, with regular assessments to monitor progress. Teachers meet with each student to review their learning and provide guidance as needed.
Even after progressing to a New Zealand high school, students can choose subjects based on their interests, allowing them to develop their strengths. One of the hallmarks of New Zealand education is that students can study courses that suit levels according to their ability.
This approach ensures that each student’s timetable is customized to their level, allowing for focused, manageable learning and steady academic growth.
